Inspection Procedure

  1. READ VALUE OF Techstream (CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH)

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Cruise Control / Data List.
    5. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the cruise control main switch.

      Hybrid vehicle control ECU 

      DIAGNOSTIC CHART

      Tester Display Measurement Item / Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      CCS MAIN Switch M-CPU Main switch signal (Main CPU) / ON or OFF ON: Main switch on
      OFF: Main switch off
      -
      CANCEL Switch CANCEL switch signal / ON or OFF ON: CANCEL switch on
      OFF: CANCEL switch off
      -
      SET/COAST Switch - (COAST) / SET switch signal / ON or OFF ON: - SET switch on
      OFF: - SET switch off
      -
      RES/ACC Switch + (ACCEL) / RES switch signal / ON or OFF ON: + RES switch on
      OFF: + RES switch off
      -

      OK : When cruise control main switch operation is performed, the results will be same as above. 

    OK : REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 

    NG : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  2. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Measure the voltage of the connector.

      Standard voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      H14-13 (CCS) - Body ground Cruise control main switch off 10 to 14V
      + RES 6.6 to 10.1 V
      - SET 4.5 to 7.1 V
      CANCEL 2.3 to 4.0 V
      Cruise control main switch on Below 1 V

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 

    NG : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  3. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Disconnect the H14 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      H14-13 (CCS) - Body ground Neutral 10 kΩ or higher
      + RES 210 to 270 Ω
      - SET 560 to 700 Ω
      CANCEL 1,380 to 1,700 Ω
      Cruise control main switch on Below 1 Ω

    OK : REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 

    NG : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  4. INSPECT CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH 
    1. Measure the resistance of the switch.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE CHART

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 3 + RES 235 to 245 Ω
      - SET 617 to 643 Ω
      CANCEL 1,509 to 1,571 Ω
      Main switch on Below 2.5 Ω
      Main switch off*1 1 MΩ or higher

      *1: Lever is in the neutral position

      If the result is not as specified, replace the switch assembly.

    NG : REPLACE CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  5. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Disconnect the spiral cable connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      A-3 - B-3 Below 1 Ω
      A-4 - B-1

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  6. INSPECT SPIRAL CABLE 
    NOTE: The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying.
    1. Disconnect the spiral cable connector.
    2. Measure the resistance of the cable.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE CHART

      Tester Connection Spiral Cable Position Specified Condition
      A-3 - C12-1 Center
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right
       
       
      Below 1 Ω
      A-4 - C12-2 Center
      2.5 rotations to the left
      2.5 rotations to the right

    NG : REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE 

    OK : GO TO NEXT STEP 

  7. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (SPIRAL CABLE - ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the C12 cable connector.
    2. Disconnect the H14 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE CHART

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      C12-1 - H14-13 (CCS) Below 1 Ω
      C12-2 - Body ground

    NG : REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 

    OK : PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
