Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage 

      VOLTAGE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P8-14 (CB+) - P8-13 (CGND) Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R 5.5 to 7.05 V

      NG: REPLACE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

      OK: Go to Next Step 

  2. CHECK TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY

    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.

      Measurement Condition 

      WAVEFORM MEASUREMENT CONDITION

      Item Content
      Tester Connection P8-7 (CV+) - P8-6 (CV-)
      Tool Setting 0.2V/DIV., 50 μs/DIV.
      Condition
      • Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R*1
      • Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R, screen is blacked out by covering camera lens*2

      OK: Waveform is as shown in illustration. 

      Result 

      RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      OK A
      NG (w/ Tire Carrier) B
      NG (w/o Tire Carrier) C

      B: Go to step 3 

      C: Go to   STEP 4 

      A: PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  (See PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE )

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the P8 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q13 camera assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P8-14 (CB+) - Q13-4 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-13 (CGND) - Q13-3 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-7 (CV+) - Q13-2 (CV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-6 (CV-) - Q13-1 (CV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-14 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-13 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-7 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-6 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

      OK: REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the P8 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q9 camera assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance 

      RESISTANCE SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P8-14 (CB+) - Q9-4 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-13 (CGND) - Q9-3 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-7 (CV+) - Q9-2 (CV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-6 (CV-) - Q9-1 (CV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      P8-14 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-13 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-7 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P8-6 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

      OK: REPLACE TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY  (See REMOVAL )
