Inspection Procedure

  1. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Check the audio models.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the L14 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the H1 (*1) or G1 (*2) speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    L14-1 (FL-) - H1-2 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L14-2 (FL+) - H1-1 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L14-3 (FR-) - G1-2 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L14-9 (FR+) - G1-1 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L14-3 (FR-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-9 (FR+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-1 (FL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-2 (FL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    HINT:
    • *1: for LH
    • *2: for RH

  4. INSPECT FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1 - 2 2.6 Ω

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the L15 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the G7 (*1) or H6 (*2) speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    L15-6 (FR-) - G7-2 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L15-2 (FR+) - G7-1 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L15-7 (FL-) - H6-2 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L15-8 (FL+) - H6-1 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L15-6 (FR-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-2 (FR+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-7 (FL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-8 (FL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    HINT:

    • *1: for RH
    • *2: for LH

  6. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    1 - 2 2.5 Ω

    NG: REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the L15 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the J2 (*1) or 12 (*2) speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    L15-3 (RL+) - J2-1 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L15-9 (RL-) - J2-2 (*1) Below 1 Ω
    L15-10 (RR+) - I2-1 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L15-4 (RR-) - I2-2 (*2) Below 1 Ω
    L15-3 (RL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-9 (RL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-10 (RR+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L15-4 (RR-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    HINT:

  8. INSPECT REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      1 - 2 3.1 Ω

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER - STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER REAR) 
    1. Disconnect the L14 amplifier connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q5 speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    Tester Connection Specified Condition
    L14-5 (WFL+) - Q5-1 (WF+) Below 1 Ω
    L14-12 (WFL-) - Q5-2 (WF-) Below 1 Ω
    L14-10 (WFR-) - Q5-3 (WF-) Below 1 Ω
    L14-4 (WFR+) - Q5-4 (WF+) Below 1 Ω
    L14-5 (WFL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-12 (WFL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-10 (WFR+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    L14-4 (WFR) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

  10. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY REAR 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance 

    STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

    1 - 4 Approx. 2 Ω

  11. CHECK SPEAKER 
    1. Check that the speakers sound.

  12. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the front No. 2 speaker sounds.

      OK: 

      Speaker sounds. 

      NG: GO to step  14

      OK: GO to next step 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the H1 (*1) and H7 (*1), or G1 (*2) and G8 (*2) speaker connectors.
    2. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      H7-3 (+) - H1-1 (*1) Below 1 Ω
      H7-1 (-) - H1-2 (*1) Below 1 Ω
      G8-3 (+) - G1-1 (*2) Below 1 Ω

      H7-3 (+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      H7-1 (-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

      OK: REPLACE FRONT NO. 1 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the E47 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the H7 (*1) or G8 (*2) speaker connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E47-2 (FL+) - H7-4 (TWL+) (*1) Below 1 Ω
      E47-6 (FL-) - H7-2 (TWL-) (*1) Below 1 Ω
      E47-1 (FR+) - G8-4 (TWR+) (*2) Below 1 Ω
      E47-5 (FR-) - G8-2 (TWR-) (*2) Below 1 Ω
      E47-1 (FR+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E47-5 (FR-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E47-2 (FL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E47-6 (FL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

  15. INSPECT FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the malfunction disappears when another speaker in good condition is installed.

      OK: 

      Malfunction disappear. 

      HINT:

      • Connect all connectors to the speakers.
      • When there is a possibility that either the right or left front speaker is defective, inspect by interchanging the right one with the left one.

      OK: REPLACE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY 

      NG: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  

  16. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER - REAR NO. 1 SPEAKER) 
    1. Disconnect the E48 receiver connector.
    2. Disconnect the J2 (*1) or 12 (*2) receiver connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance 

      STANDARD RESISTANCE SPECIFICATIONS

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      E48-2 (RL+) - J2-1 (*1) Below 1 Ω
      E48-6 (RL-) - J2-2 (*1) Below 1 Ω
      E48-1 (RR+) - I2-1 (*2) Below 1 Ω
      E48-3 (RR-) - I2-2 (*2) Below 1 Ω
      E48-2 (RL+) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      E48-6 (RL-) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
