Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector R16 and television display assembly connector T14.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      W+ - NTSC Always Below 1 Ω
      W- - SGN1 Always Below 1 Ω
      W+ - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      W- - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step. 

  2. INSPECT TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the television display assembly connector R16.
    2. Measure the waveform according to the table below.

      OK 

      TESTER CONNECTION AND SPECIFIED CONDITION

      Tester connection Condition Specified condition
      VV+ - Body ground DVD display is ON A waveform synchronized with display signals is output

      HINT:

      The waveform pattern may differ from that shown in the illustration below due to differences in oscilloscope setting. A normal television display assembly operating condition can be determined if any waveform is output.

    3. Oscilloscope waveform
      1. Terminal: VV+ - Body ground

        Setting: 200 mV/DIV., 10 μs/DIV.

        Condition: DVD display is ON.

    NG: REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 

    OK: PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
