Inspection Procedure

NOTE:
When replacing the VSC actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (See CALIBRATION
).
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STOP LIGHT SWITCH)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Select the Data List mode on the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC

OFF: Brake pedal released- OK: ON (brake pedal is depressed) appears on the screen.
NG: Go to step 3
OK: Go to Next Step
- RECONFIRM DTC
- Clear the DTC (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR ).
- Check if the same DTC is output (See DTC CHECK/CLEAR
).

A: REPLACE VSC ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
- INSPECT FUSE (STOP)
- Remove the STOP fuse from the engine room relay block.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCETester Connection Condition Specified Condition STOP fuse Always Below 1 Ω
NG: CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY (BRK NO. 1, BRK NO. 2)
- Remove the stop light control relays (BRK NO. 1 and BRK NO. 2) from the engine room relay block.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
for BRK NO. 1

NG: REPLACE STOP LIGHT CONTROL RELAY
OK: Go to Next Step
- INSPECT STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the A4 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
RESISTANCE REFERENCETester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 Pin not pushed Below 1 Ω Pin pushed 10 kΩ or higher 3 - 4 Pin not pushed Pin pushed Below 1 Ω
NG: REPLACE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See REMOVAL )
OK: Go to Next Step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - SKID CONTROL ECU)
- Disconnect the A19 ECU connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
