Inspection Procedure
NOTE:
Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ACTIVATE THE VSV FOR AICS)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Active Test / Activate the VSV for AICS.
- Check the operation of the VSV when the VSV is operated using the Techstream.
Standard

OK: PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
- CHECK VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE)
- Check the vacuum switching valve for air intake control valve (See
VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE
).
NG: REPLACE AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY
OK: Go to next step
- Check the vacuum switching valve for air intake control valve (See
VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE
).
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VSV FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE POWER SOURCE)
- Disconnect the vacuum switching valve for air intake control valve connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY - VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE)
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
- Disconnect the vacuum switching valve for air intake control valve connector.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

- Reconnect the vacuum switching valve for air intake control valve connector.
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE FOR AIR INTAKE CONTROL VALVE - ECM)
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT VACUUM SURGE TANK
- Inspect the vacuum surge tank (See
VACUUM TANK
).
NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY
OK: REPLACE ECM (See REMOVAL )
- Inspect the vacuum surge tank (See
VACUUM TANK
).
