Engine Control System (2GR-FE) - System And Component Inspection, Testing And R & I: ECM: Installation

  1. INSTALL ECM 
    1. Install the 2 brackets to the ECM with the 4 screws.

      Torque: 3.0 N*m (31 kgf*cm, 27 in.*lbf)

    2. Install the ECM with the 3 nuts.

      Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)

    3. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.
      NOTE: When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not become stuck between the connectors and other parts.
      1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.
        NOTE: Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.

  2. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See INSTALLATION )
  3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    NOTE: When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (See INITIALIZATION ).
  4. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 

    HINT:

    Initialization cannot be completed by only disconnecting and reconnecting the cable of the negative (-) battery terminal.

    1. Perform Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) registration (See INITIALIZATION ).
    2. Register the ECM communication ID for the immobilizer system when replacing the ECM (See INITIALIZATION ).
    3. Perform Initialization when replacing the ECM (See INSTALLATION  ).
