Driver Side Power Window does not Operate with Power Window Master Switch: Procedure

  1. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the power window regulator motor.

    2. Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    3. Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 1
      Battery negative (-) → 2
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
      Battery positive (+) → 2
      Battery negative (-) → 1
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
    4. Reinstall the motor.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the power window regulator master switch.

    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      Window Lock Switch Condition Power Window Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      Always
      (ON / OFF)
      UP 1 (E) - 4 (D)
      3 (U) - 9 (B)
      Below 1 Ω
      Always
      (ON / OFF)
      OFF 1 (E) - 3 (U)
      1 (E) - 4 (D)
      Below 1 Ω
      Always
      (ON / OFF)
      DOWN 1 (E) - 3 (U)
      4 (D) - 9 (B)
      Below 1 Ω
      Always
      (ON / OFF)
      AUTO DOWN 1 (E) - 3 (U)
      4 (D) - 9 (B)
      Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the master switch.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH - MOTOR (DRIVER SIDE)) 
    1. Disconnect the H5 power window regulator master switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the H3 power window regulator motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      H5-4 (D) - H3-1 Below 1 Ω
      H5-3 (U) - H3-2 Below 1 Ω
      H5-4 (D) or H3-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      H5-3 (U) or H3-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the motor connector.
    5. Reconnect the master switch connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. GO TO POWER WINDOWS DO NOT OPERATE AT ALL. Refer to Power Windows do not Operate at All  
  5. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE). Refer to REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
