Front Passenger Side Power Window does not Operate with Front Passenger Side Power Window Switch: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE) (POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the G6 regulator switch connector.

    2. Measure the voltage of the wire harness side connector.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G6-4 - Body ground Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
    3. Reconnect the switch connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the power window regulator switch.

    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2
      3 - 4
      UP Below 1 Ω
      1 - 2
      3 - 5
      OFF Below 1 Ω
      1 - 4
      3 - 5
      DOWN Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the switch.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SWITCH (PASSENGER SIDE) - MOTOR (PASSENGER SIDE)) 
    1. Disconnect the G6 power window regulator switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the G3 power window regulator motor connector.
    3. Check the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      G6-3 - G3-2 Below 1 Ω
      G6-1 - G3-1 Below 1 Ω
      G6-3 or G3-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      G6-1 or G3-1 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the motor connector.
    5. Reconnect the switch connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE) 
    1. Remove the power window regulator motor.

    2. Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
      NOTE:

      Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.

    3. Check that the motor gear rotates smoothly as follows.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 1
      Battery negative (-) → 2
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
      Battery positive (+) → 2
      Battery negative (-) → 1
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
    4. Reinstall the motor.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MASTER SWITCH - SWITCH (PASSENGER SIDE)) 
    1. Disconnect the H5 power window regulator master switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the G6 power window regulator switch connector.
    3. Check the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Specified Condition
      H5-8 (U) - G6-5 Below 1 Ω
      H5-10 (D) - G6-2 Below 1 Ω
      H5-8 (U) or G6-5 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
      H5-10 (D) or G6-2 - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the master switch connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (FRONT PASSENGER SWITCH) 
    1. Remove the power window regulator master switch.

    2. Check the resistance.

      Standard resistance

      Window Lock Switch Condition Power Window Switch Condition Tester Connection Specified Condition
      OFF UP 1 (E) - 10 (D)
      8 (U) - 9 (B)
      Below 1 Ω
      OFF OFF 1 (E) - 8 (U)
      1 (E) - 10 (D)
      Below 1 Ω
      OFF DOWN 1 (E) - 8 (U)
      9 (B) - 10 (D)
      Below 1 Ω
      ON UP 1 (E) - 10 (D) 10 kΩ or higher
      8 (U) - 9 (B) Below 1 Ω
      ON OFF 8 (U) - 10 (D) Below 1 Ω
      ON DOWN 1 (E) - 8 (U) 10 kΩ or higher
      9 (B) - 10 (D) Below 1 Ω
    3. Reinstall the master switch.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK → See step   7 

  7. SYSTEM IS OK. Refer to Power Windows do not Operate at All  
  8. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR SWITCH ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE). Refer to REMOVAL 
  9. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (PASSENGER SIDE). Refer to REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MASTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
