Starter Signal Circuit: Procedure
- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (STARTER SIGNAL)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.
- Check the result when the ignition switch is turned ON and the engine starts.

- INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH START ASSEMBLY
- Remove the clutch start switch.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance

- INSPECT IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - CLUTCH START SWITCH ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the ignition switch connector.
- Disconnect the clutch start switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A1-1 (ST1) - A9-1 Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A1-1 (ST1) or A9-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLUTCH START SWITCH - ECM - STA RELAY)
- Remove the STA relay from the engine room relay block.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the clutch start switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A1-1 (ST1) - B35-4 Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition A1-1 (ST1) or B35-4 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY - ECM - STA RELAY)
- Remove the STA relay from the engine room relay block.
- Disconnect the ECM connector.
- Disconnect the park/neutral position switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance (Check for Open)
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition 1 (STA relay) - E77-10 (STA) Always Below 1 Ω 1 (STA relay) - B35-5 Always Below 1 Ω Standard Resistance (Check for Short)
