Engine Control System (2GR-FE) (Service Information) (Except Hybrid): ECM: Installation: Installation
- INSTALL NO. 2 ECM BRACKET
- Install the 2 screws and No. 2 ECM bracket.
- INSTALL NO. 1 ECM BRACKET
- Install the 2 screws and No. 1 ECM bracket.
- INSTALL ECM
- Install the 2 nuts, bolt and ECM.
Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
- Install the wire harness clamp.
- Connect the 5 ECM connectors.
- Install the harness connector.
- Install the 2 nuts, bolt and ECM.
- INSTALL TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
- INSTALL CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) (w/ Smart Key System) . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
- INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 23
- INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 24
- INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 29 .
- INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
HINT:
Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 30 .
- CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL NOTE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
- RESISTER TRANSMITTER ID NOTE:
If the tire pressure warning ECU is replaced, resister the transmitter ID. Refer to REGISTRATION .
- INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM NOTE:
If the tire pressure warning ECU is replaced, inspect the tire pressure warning system. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
- INITIALIZE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM NOTE:
- Be sure to register the transmitter IDs of all tires in the ECU before initialization.
- Be sure to inflate all tires to the proper inflation pressure before initialization.

- REGISTER IMMOBILIZER COMMUNICATION ID NOTE:
If the ECM is replaced, register the ECU communication ID for the immobilizer system. Refer to REGISTRATION w/ Smart Key System. Refer to REGISTRATION w/o Smart Key System).
- PERFORM INITIALIZATION NOTE:
If the ECM is replaced, perform RESET MEMORY (AT initialization). Refer to INITIALIZATION .
