Rear Door RH Entry Unlock Function does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK POWER DOOR LOCK OPERATION 
    1. When the master switch assembly door control switch is operated, check that the locked doors unlock.

      OK

      Door locks operate normally.

    NG → See step   10 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR LOCK POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      MAIN BODY

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RR-Door Lock Pos SW Passenger side rear door lock position switch signal / ON or OFF ON: Passenger side rear door unlocked
      OFF: Passenger side rear door locked
      -

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, the display changes between ON and OFF as shown in the chart above.

    NG → See step   12 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (TOUCH SENSOR) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
      SMART KEY

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      Pr-Door Touch Sensor Passenger side rear door touch sensor / ON or OFF ON: Touch sensor touched
      OFF: Touch sensor not touched
      -

      OK

      "ON" (sensor is touched) and "OFF" (sensor is not touched) appears on the screen.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   11 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU [SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY] - DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR) 
    1. Disconnect the E30 ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the z26 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E30-2 (SEL4) - z26-4 (SEL) Always Below 1 Ω
      E30-27 (SEN4) - z26-6 (SENS) Always Below 1 Ω
      E30-2 (SEL4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E30-27 (SEN4) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR - REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE) 
    1. Disconnect the z25 handle connector.

    2. Disconnect the z26 oscillator connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z25-6 (SGT) - z26-2 (SGT) Always Below 1 Ω
      z25-6 (SGT) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. REPLACE DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR 
    1. Replace the door electrical key oscillator. Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 37 .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END (DOOR ELECTRICAL KEY OSCILLATOR IS DEFECTIVE) 

  8. REPLACE REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE 
    1. Replace the rear door outside handle. Refer to DISASSEMBLY - Step 28 .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE (OPERATION) 
    1. Check that the entry function operates normally.

      OK

      Operates normally.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK → END (REAR DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE IS DEFECTIVE) 

  10. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  OPERATION CHECK 
  11. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. GO TO POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (Proceed to Only Rear Door RH LOCK/UNLOCK Functions do not Operate). Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
