DTC B1279: Rain Sensor Communication Stop: Procedure

- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (RAIN SENSOR - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the N3 sensor connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition N3-1 (SIG) - Body ground Ignition Switch On (IG) 10 to 14 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition N3-3 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE
- Disconnect the N3 and IR ECU connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition N3-2 (MPX) - IR-9 Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE RAIN SENSOR
