DTC C1541: Vehicle Speed Signal Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if DTC U0129 is output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      U0129 is output B

      HINT: 

      DTC U0129 indicates a VSC ECU communication malfunction in the power steering system.

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTCs of the ABS or VSC.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      C0200 or C0210 is output (with ABS) B
      C0200 or C0210 is output (with ABS) C

      HINT: 

      These DTCs indicate a speed sensor signal malfunction in the ABS or VSC.

      NOTE: If the power steering ECU is replaced, initialize the rotation angle sensor and calibrate the torque sensor zero point. Refer to CALIBRATION .

  3. REPLACE POWER STEERING ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  5. REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE (for ABS). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  6. REPAIR CIRCUIT INDICATED BY OUTPUT CODE (with VSC). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
