Data List / Active Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Toyota Avalon. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DATA LIST

    HINT:

Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows switch, sensor, actuator and other item values to be read without removing any parts. Reading the Data List early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    NOTE:

In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Data List.
    4. Read the Data List according to the display on the tester

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    HINT:

Using the Techstream to perform Active Test allows relay, VSV, actuator and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing the Active Test early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. The Data List can be displayed during the Active Test.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.
    4. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the tester.

      HINT:

The ignition switch must be turned on (IG) to proceed to the ACTIVE TEST using the Techstream.
