Engine Control System (2AZ-FE) (Service Information): ECM: Installation: Installation

INSTALL ECM
1. Install the 2 ECM brackets onto the ECM with the 4 screws.

2. Install the ECM with the 3 bolts.

  Torque: 8.0 N*m (82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf)
3. Connect the 2 ECM connectors.

  1. Connect the 2 ECM connectors and lower the 2 levers.
    NOTE:
    When connecting the connectors, make sure that dirt, water or other foreign matter does not get caught between the connectors and other parts.
    
    Make sure that the 2 levers are securely locked.
4. Install the wire harness clamp.

INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 64
INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY WITH HOSE See step 2
INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 93
CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
PERFORM INITIALIZATION
HINT:

Initialization cannot be completed by only removing the cable from the battery.
1. Perform Reset Memory (AT initialization) when replacing the ECM. (for Automatic Transaxle)
  HINT:
  - Refer to INITIALIZATION (for U250E)
  - Refer to INITIALIZATION (for U140F)
2. Perform Registration (VIN registration) when replacing the ECM. Refer to REGISTRATION .
