Manual Up / Down and Auto Down Function does not Operate on Driver Side: Procedure
- INSPECT FUSE (P/W)
- Remove the fuse from the driver side J/B.
- Check the resistance.
Standard resistance
Below 1 Ω
OK → REPLACE FUSE
NG: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (TERMINAL BW)
- Turn the ignition switch ON.
- Check the voltage between the terminal of the wire harness side connector and the body ground.
Standard voltage
Terminal No. Condition Specified Condition D9-7 (BW) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (P/W FUSE - MASTER SWITCH)
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH
- Remove the master switch.
- Check the resistance between the terminals of the master switch when the AUTO (driver side) switch is operated, as shown in the table below.
Standard resistance
Terminal No. AUTO Switch Specified Condition 1 - 9, 4 - 7 UP Below 1 Ω 1 - 4 - 9 OFF 1 - 4, 7 - 9 DOWN
NG → REPLACE POWER WINDOW MASTER SWITCH
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MASTER SWITCH - MOTOR) (MASTER SWITCH - BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the D9 master switch connector.
- Disconnect the P40 motor connector.
- Check the resistance between the wire harness side connectors.
Standard resistance
Terminal No. Specified Condition D9-9 (DD) - P40-1 (DOWN) Below 1 Ω D9-4 (DU) - P40-2 (UP) - Check the resistance between the D9 master switch connector and body ground.
Standard resistance
Terminal No. Specified Condition D9-9 (DD) - Body ground 10 kΩ or higher D9-4 (DU) - Body ground - Reference:

Check operation of the power window motor (driver side).
- Remove the motor.
- Apply battery voltage to connector terminals 1 and 2.
- Check that the motor smoothly rotates.NOTE:
Do not apply battery voltage to any terminals except terminals 1 and 2.
Standard
Terminal No. Specified Condition Battery positive (+) → 1
Battery negative (-) → 2Motor gear rotates counterclockwise Battery positive (+) → 2
Battery negative (-) → 1Motor gear rotates clockwise
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE POWER WINDOW REGULATOR MOTOR ASSEMBLY (DRIVER SIDE)
