Throttle Body: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY 
    1. Install a new throttle body gasket to the intake air surge tank.

    2. Install the throttle body with the 4 bolts.

      Torque: 10 N*m (102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf) 

    3. Connect the 2 water by-pass hoses.

    4. Connect the throttle body connector and clamp.

  2. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 83
  3. INSTALL AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the air cleaner cap sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.

    2. Connect the the vacuum hose (EVAP) to the air cleaner hose.

    3. Install the No. 2 ventilation hose and air cleaner hose band.
    4. Connect the 3 vacuum hoses.

  4. INSTALL NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 86
  5. INSTALL NO. 2 AIR CLEANER INLET  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 87
  6. ADD ENGINE COOLANT  . Refer to REPLACEMENT - Step 4
  7. INSPECT FOR ENGINE COOLANT LEAK  . Refer to ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION - Step 1
  8. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 117
  9. INSTALL FRONT OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 90
  10. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  11. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    NOTE:

    Perform the following procedure after replacing the ECM, throttle body assembly or any throttle body components. The following procedure should also be performed if the throttle body is cleaned.

    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Wait at least 60 seconds and reconnect the cable.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON without operating the accelerator pedal.
      NOTE:

      If the accelerator pedal is operated, perform the above steps again.

    3. Connect the Techstream tester to the DLC3 and clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Start the engine and check that the MIL is not illuminated and that the idle speed is within the specified range when the A/C is switched off after the engine is warmed up.
      STANDARD

      Condition Engine Idle Speed
      A/C switched off 600 to 700 rpm

      HINT: 

      • Be sure to perform this step with all accessories off.
      • Make sure that the shift lever is in neutral.
    5. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Throttle Sensor Position. Fully depress the accelerator pedal and check that the value is 60% or more.
    6. Perform a road test and confirm that there are no abnormalities.
