How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs and make a note of any codes that are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR . Based on the DTCs output above, try to cause the output of the same wireless door lock control system DTC, LIN communication system DTC, steering lock system DTC, engine immobilizer system DTC or smart key system (for entry function) DTC by reproducing the symptoms indicated by the DTC.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output. A
      Wireless door lock control system DTC is output. B
      LIN communication system DTC is output. C
      Steering lock system DTC is output. D
      Engine immobiliser system DTC is output. E
      Smart key system (for entry function) DTC is output. F

      B → Go to WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      C → Go to LIN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      D → Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  

      E → Go to ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      F → Go to SMART KEY SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table. A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table. B

      B → Go to step 6 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .
    2. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  6. REPAIR OR REPLACE 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
