Steering Angle Sensor Communication Stop Mode (FROM 12/2010): Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE DISCONNECTION) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector (D12).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified value
      D12-10 (CANH) - D12-9 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR SUB BUS LINE OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG, ESS) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D12-2 (ESS) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D12-1 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE STEERING ANGLE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL
