Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation Receiver Assembly and Stereo Component Amplifier (FROM 12/2010): Procedure
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E20-1 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, Audio system playing → Changing source Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component with harness connected

OK → See step 5
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER - STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER)
- Disconnect the E52 navigation receiver assembly connector.
- Disconnect the E20 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E52-7 (MUTE) - E20-1 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω E52-7 (MUTE) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY (OUTPUT SIGNAL)
- Reconnect the E20 stereo component amplifier assembly connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage

- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL
