Sound Signal Circuit between Stereo Component Tuner Assembly and Multi-media Interface ECU: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - STEREO COMPONENT TUNER) 
    1. Disconnect the multi-media interface ECU connector.

    2. Disconnect the stereo component tuner assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F29-8 (URI+) - F30-2 (FRO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F29-16 (URI-) - F30-3 (FRO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F29-7 (ULI+) - F30-4 (FLO+) Always Below 1 Ω
      F29-15 (ULI-) - F30-5 (FLO-) Always Below 1 Ω
      F29-8 (URI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F29-16 (URI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F29-7 (ULI+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F29-15 (ULI-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F29-6 (USD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multi-media Interface ECU)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Stereo Component Tuner Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Reconnect the stereo component tuner assembly connector.

    2. Check the waveform according to the conditions in the table below.

      Standard

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F30-2 (FRO+) - Body ground Voice sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      F30-3 (FRO-) - Body ground Voice sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      F30-4 (FLO+) - Body ground Voice sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output
      F30-5 (FLO-) - Body ground Voice sound being produced A waveform synchronized with sound is output

      (Stereo Component Tuner Assembly)

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  4. REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
