DTC B1271: Combination Meter ECU Communication Stop: Procedure

- CHECK WIRE HARNESS (COMBINATION METER ECU - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
- Disconnect the E30 meter connector.
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E30-1 (B2) - Body ground Always 10 to 14 V E30-21 (B) - Body ground 10 to 14 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E30-39 (ES) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω E30-40 (E2) - Body ground Below 1 Ω
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- CHECK RESISTANCE OF COMMUNICATION LINE
- Disconnect the E30, E23 and 1G ECU connectors.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Result Proceed to Both are OK A One is OK B Both are NG C
