Installation (From 12/2010): Installation

- INSTALL FRONT AXLE ASSEMBLY LH
- Align the matchmarks and install the front drive shaft assembly LH to the front axle hub sub-assembly LH.
- Install the steering knuckle LH with the front axle hub sub-assembly LH to the shock absorber assembly front LH with the 2bolts and 2 nuts.

Torque: 290 N*m (2957 kgf*cm, 214 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:- Only when reusing the bolts and nuts, apply a small amount of engine oil to the threads of the nuts.
- Be careful not to damage the drive shaft boot and speed sensor rotor.
- INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SUB- ASSEMBLY LOWER NO. 1 LH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
- INSTALL TIE ROD END SUB-ASSEMBLY LH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 5
- INSTALL FRONT DISC
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Install the front disc brake caliper assembly LH to the steering knuckle LH with the 2 bolts.

Torque: 107 N*m (1090 kgf*cm, 79 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:Do not twist the brake hose when installing the front disc brake caliper assembly LH.
- Install the front disc brake caliper assembly LH to the steering knuckle LH with the 2 bolts.
- INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT LH NUT
- Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle hub nut using a non-residue solvent.NOTE:
- Be sure to perform this work for a new drive shaft.
- Keep the threaded parts free of oil and foreign objects.
- Using a socket wrench (30 mm), install a new axle hub LH nut.
Torque: 294 N*m (3000 kgf*cm, 217 ft.*lbf)
HINT:
Stake the nut after inspecting for looseness and runout through the following steps.
- Clean the threaded parts on the drive shaft and axle hub nut using a non-residue solvent.
- SEPARATE FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front disc brake caliper assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.NOTE:
Use a wire or an equivalent to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.
- Remove the 2 bolts and separate the front disc brake caliper assembly LH from the steering knuckle LH.
- REMOVE FRONT DISC
- INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB BEARING LOOSENESS Refer to 4
- INSPECT FRONT AXLE HUB RUNOUT Refer to 5
- INSTALL FRONT DISC
- INSTALL FRONT DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY LH
- Install the front disc brake caliper assembly LH with the 2 bolts to the steering knuckle LH.
Torque: 107 N*m (1090 kgf*cm, 79 ft.*lbf)
NOTE:Do not twist the brake hose when installing the front disc brake caliper assembly LH.
- Install the front disc brake caliper assembly LH with the 2 bolts to the steering knuckle LH.
- INSTALL SPEED SENSOR FRONT LH . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
- INSTALL FRONT AXLE SHAFT LH NUT
- Using a chisel and hammer, stake the axle hub LH nut.
- INSTALL FRONT WHEEL
Torque: 103 N*m (1050 kgf*cm, 76 ft.*lbf)
- INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
- Inspect and adjust front wheel alignment. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .
- CHECK FOR SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL
- Check for the speed sensor signal. Refer to TEST MODE PROCEDURE .
