Display Signal Circuit between Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly and Television Camera Assembly: Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR - TELEVISION CAMERA) 
    1. Disconnect the S5 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Y1 rear television camera assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S5-14 (CB+) - Y1-4 (CB+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S5-13 (CGND) - Y1-3 (CGND) Always Below 1 Ω
      S5-7 (CV+) - Y1-2 (CV+) Always Below 1 Ω
      S5-6 (CV-) - Y1-1 (CV-) Always Below 1 Ω
      S5-14 (CB+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S5-13 (CGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S5-7 (CV+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S5-6 (CV-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      S5-14 (CB+) - S5-13 (CGND) Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R 5.5 to 7.05 V

      *a Component with harness connected
      (Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly)

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform in illustration.

      MEASUREMENT CONDITION

      Item Content
      Tester Connection S5-7 (CV+) - S5-6 (CV-)
      Tool Setting 0.2 V/DIV., 50 μs/DIV.
      Condition
      • Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R*1
      • Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R, screen blacked out by covering camera lens*2

      OK

      Waveform is as shown in illustration.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  5. REPLACE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. REPLACE REAR TELEVISION CAMERA ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
