Reverse Signal Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY

    1. Disconnect the S5 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S5-3 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, shift lever in R 11 to 14 V
      S5-3 (REV) - Body ground Ignition switch ON, shift lever in not R Below 1 V

      (to Inner Rear View Mirror Assembly)

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR - PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the S5 inner rear view mirror assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B42 park/neutral position switch assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S5-3 (REV) - B42-1 (RL) Always Below 1 Ω
      S5-3 (REV) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      OK (for A750E) A
      OK (for A750F) B
      NG C

    B → See step   5 

    C → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    A → See step   4 

  3. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  
  4. REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  5. REPLACE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
