Microphone Circuit between Microphone and Navigation Receiver Assembly: Procedure
- INSPECT NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E54-17 (MACC) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC 4 to 6 V - Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E54-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω E54-20 (MIC-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component with harness connected

OK: Go to next step
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
- Disconnect the E54 navigation receiver assembly connector.
- Disconnect the N9 inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E54-5 (SNS2) - N9-10 (SGND) Always Below 1 Ω E54-17 (MACC) - N9-2 (MACC) Always Below 1 Ω E54-19 (MIC+) - N9-11 (MIC+) Always Below 1 Ω E54-20 (MIC-) - N9-12 (MIC-) Always Below 1 Ω E54-5 (SNS2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher E54-17 (MACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher E54-19 (MIC+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher E54-20 (MIC-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher E54-18 (SGND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

- INSPECT INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)

- REPLACE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY)
- Check that the malfunction disappears when another inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) in good condition installed.
OK
Malfunction disappears.

- Check that the malfunction disappears when another inner rear view mirror assembly (amplifier microphone assembly) in good condition installed.
- PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
- REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to REMOVAL .
- REPLACE INNER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY (AMPLIFIER MICROPHONE ASSEMBLY). Refer to REMOVAL .
