Multi-media Interface ECU Power Source Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU 
    1. Disconnect the E41 multi-media interface ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E41-12 (+B) - E41-7 (GND) Always 11 to 14 V
      E41-11 (ACC) - E41-7 (GND) Ignition switch ACC 11 to 14 V

      (to Multi-media Interface ECU)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   2 

  2. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE  .
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY - MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the E53 navigation receiver assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the E41 multi-media interface ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E41-11 (ACC) - E53-11 (ACC) Always Below 1 Ω
      E41-12 (+B) - E53-12 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      E41-7 (GND) - E53-7 (GND) Always Below 1 Ω
      E41-11 (ACC) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E41-12 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      E41-7 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  4. REPLACE NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL  .
