Mute Signal Circuit between Stereo Component Tuner Assembly and Multi-media Interface ECU: Procedure
- INSPECT STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY
- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E50-6 (MUTE) - Body ground Ignition switch ACC, Satellite radio playing → Changing source Above 3.5 V → Below 1 V TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION*a Component with harness connected

- Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MULTI-MEDIA INTERFACE ECU - STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY)
- Disconnect the E49 multi-media interface ECU connector.
- Disconnect the E50 stereo component tuner assembly connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition E49-14 (MUT2) - E50-6 (MUTE) Always Below 1 Ω E49-14 (MUT2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK: Go to next step
- REPLACE STEREO COMPONENT TUNER ASSEMBLY
- Replace the stereo component tuner assembly and check that the malfunction disappears. Refer to REMOVAL

Malfunction disappears.
