Sound Signal Circuit between Stereo Component Tuner Assembly and Multi-media Interface ECU: Procedure

1. Disconnect the E49 multi-media interface ECU connector.
2. Disconnect the E50 stereo component tuner assembly connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E49-8 (URI+) - E50-2 (FRO+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E49-16 (URI-) - E50-3 (FRO-)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E49-7 (ULI+) - E50-4 (FLO+)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E49-15 (ULI-) - E50-5 (FLO-)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   E49-8 (URI+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   E49-16 (URI-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   E49-7 (ULI+) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   E49-15 (ULI-) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   E49-6 (USD2) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Reconnect the E50 stereo component tuner assembly connector.

2. Check the waveform according to the conditions in the table below.

   Standard

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E50-2 (FRO+) - Body ground	Sound being produced	A waveform synchronized with sound is output
   E50-3 (FRO-) - Body ground	Sound being produced	A waveform synchronized with sound is output
   E50-4 (FLO+) - Body ground	Sound being produced	A waveform synchronized with sound is output
   E50-5 (FLO-) - Body ground	Sound being produced	A waveform synchronized with sound is output
