How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

• Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the occupant classification system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

   NEXT: Go to next step 

2. CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR LOCATION* 
   1. Using the Techstream, check if the yaw rate sensor is connected to the CAN communication system. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

      Result

      The yaw rate sensor is connected to the CAN communication system.	Separate Type Yaw Rate Sensor
      The yaw rate sensor is not connected to the CAN communication system.	Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor

3. CUSTOMER PROBLEM ANALYSIS 
   1. Confirm problem symptoms. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

4. PASSENGER AIRBAG ON/OFF INDICATOR CHECK 
   1. Proceed to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

5. DTC CHECK (Present and History DTCs)* 
   1. Proceed to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

6. DTC CHART

9. CLEAR DTCS (Present and History DTCs)* 
   1. Proceed to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

10. DTC CHECK* 
    1. Proceed to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

11. SYMPTOM SIMULATION 
    1. Check the passenger airbag ON/OFF indicator condition.
