Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. PRECAUTION 
    WARNING:

    Read "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 5 hooks.

    2. Engage the 5 hooks and install the front passenger airbag assembly onto the instrument panel.
    3. Install the 2 screws.

  3. INSTALL DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  4. INSTALL NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 9
  5. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the 3 clamps.

    2. Connect the 2 connectors to the front passenger airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When handling the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Refer to the procedures from "INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY". Refer to INSTALLATION .

  7. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 

    Torque: 3.9 N*m (40 kgf*cm, 35 in.*lbf) 

  8. PERFORM INITIALIZATION 
    1. Perform initialization. Refer to INITIALIZATION .

      HINT: 

      Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.

  9. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
