DTC P0607: Control Module Performance: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the Techstream on.
3. Enter the following menu: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
4. Read DTCs.
   RESULT
   
   

   Result	Proceed to
   P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output	A
   P0607 is output	B

A: Go to next step 

1. Inspect the P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 flow chart.

   HINT: 

   • If P0136 or P0156 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0156: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0157: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0158: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0159: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If P0137 or P0157 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0156: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0157: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0158: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0159: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Then proceed to INSPECT ECM.
   • If P0138 or P0158 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0156: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0157: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0158: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0159: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Then proceed to INSPECT ECM.
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

1. Allow the engine to idle and rev the engine.
2. Check for exhaust gas leaks around the heated oxygen sensor.

   If any exhaust gas leaks are present, repair them and proceed to "PERFORM CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN". If no exhaust gas leaks are present proceed to "PERFORM CONFIRMATION DRIVING PATTERN".

   HINT: 

   • If no exhaust gas leaks are present, a malfunction in the heated oxygen sensor circuit is suspected.
   • If any exhaust gas leaks are present around the heated oxygen sensor, noise appears in the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor.

1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Start the engine.
4. Warm up the engine until the engine coolant temperature becomes 75°C (167°F) or more.
5. Perform the drive pattern.
   WARNING:

   When performing the confirmation driving pattern, obey all speed limits and traffic laws.

   1. Accelerate the vehicle to 80 km/h (50 mph) and stop the vehicle.
   2. Drive the vehicle between 56 and 80 km/h (35 and 50 mph) for 5 minutes.
6. Enter the following menu: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
7. Read DTCs.
   RESULT

   P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output	A
   Only P0607	B
   No DTC output	C

Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0156: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0157: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0158: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0159: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If P0138 or P0158 is output, troubleshoot for that DTC first. Refer to DTC P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0137: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0138: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0139: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 1 Sensor 2); DTC P0156: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0157: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0158: Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 2 Sensor 2); DTC P0159: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Slow Response (Bank 2 Sensor 2) . Then proceed to "INSPECT ECM".
   • If DTC P0607 and P0136, P0137, P0138, P0156, P0157 or P0158 are output, the output voltage of the heated oxygen sensor may remain close to 0 V or become high (around 1 V or more).

2. Stop the engine and wait for 30 minutes.
3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
4. Start the engine and allow it to idle for 2 minutes.
5. Turn the Techstream on.
6. Enter the following menu: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Trouble Codes.
7. Check the DTCs.
