How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 

    Standard voltage

    11 to 14 V

    If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK COMMUNICATION FUNCTION OF CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Use the Techstream to check if the CAN communication system is functioning normally.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      CAN DTC is not output A
      CAN DTC is output B

      B → Go to CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs. Based on the DTCs output in the first step, try to force output of the dynamic radar cruise control system DTCs by simulating the conditions indicated by the DTCs.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

      B → Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART  

      A: Go to next step 

  5. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in problem symptoms table A
      Fault is listed in problem symptoms table B

      B → Go to step 7 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. OVERALL ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING* 
    1. Operation Check. Refer to OPERATION CHECK 
    2. Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU 
    3. Data List / Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST 

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  7. ADJUST, REPAIR OR REPLACE 
    NOTE:
    • When the driving support ECU or ECM is replaced with a new one, initialization must be performed. Refer to INITIALIZATION .
    • When the millimeter wave radar sensor assembly is replaced with a new one, adjustment of the radar sensor beam axis must be performed. Refer to ADJUSTMENT .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
