Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the clamp.

    2. Connect the 2 airbag connectors.

    3. Install the clamp and instrument panel wire assembly on the front passenger airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 5 hooks.

    2. Install the front passenger airbag assembly with the 5 hooks on the upper instrument panel sub-assembly.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  3. INSTALL HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 7
  4. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  5. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the connector.

      NOTE:

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  6. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    HINT: 

    Refer to the procedure from Install No. 1 Instrument Panel Box Door Sub-assembly. Refer to INSTALLATION .
