Front Airbag Sensor: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL FRONT AIRBAG SENSOR 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Install the front airbag sensor with the bolt and pin.

      Torque: 9.0 N*m (92 kgf*cm, 80 in.*lbf) 

      NOTE:
      • If the front airbag sensor has been dropped, or there are any cracks, dents or other defects in the case or connector, replace it with a new one.
      • When installing the front airbag sensor, be careful that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and that it is not pinched between other parts.
      • Make sure that the pin is securely inserted into the body hole.
      • Tighten the bolt while holding the front airbag sensor because the front airbag sensor pin (stopper) is easily damaged.
    4. Connect the connector.
      NOTE:

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Check that there is no looseness in the installation parts of the front airbag sensor.
  2. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  3. INSTALL HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to INSTALLATION

  4. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
