Front Passenger Airbag Assembly: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the clamp.

    2. Connect the 2 airbag connectors.

    3. Install the clamp and instrument panel wire assembly on the front passenger airbag assembly.
      NOTE:

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY 
    1. Engage the 5 hooks.

    2. Install the front passenger airbag assembly with the 5 hooks on the instrument panel.

    3. Install the 2 screws.

  3. INSTALL NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL CUSHION (for TMC Made)  . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 14
  4. INSTALL NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT  . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 18
  5. INSTALL DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REASSEMBLY - Step 21
  6. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  7. CONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Check that the ignition switch is off.
    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.
      WARNING:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    3. Connect the connector.

      NOTE:

      When connecting the airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

  8. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 52
  9. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 4
  10. CONNECT FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

    HINT: 

    Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side. Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 52 .

  11. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL BOX DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  12. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 7
  13. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 61
  14. INSTALL FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 62
  15. INSTALL COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 1
  16. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  17. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 12
  18. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 13
  19. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 14
  20. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 15
  21. INSTALL LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
  22. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
  23. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Inspect the SRS warning light. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .
