Center Airbag Sensor Communication Stop Mode: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.
    2. Disconnect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector:
      (to Center Airbag Sensor Assembly)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E18-13 (CANH) - E18-22 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BUS BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY BRANCH WIRE) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2, E1, E2) 
    1. Disconnect the center airbag sensor assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E18-25 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      E18-26 (E2) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E18-21 (IG2) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
