Clutch Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT ECM 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.

    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage (2ZR-FE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-47 (D) - Body ground Clutch pedal depressed Below 1 V
      Clutch pedal released 11 to 14 V

      Standard Voltage (2AZ-FE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B29-56 (D) - Body ground Clutch pedal depressed Below 1 V
      Clutch pedal released 11 to 14 V
    4. Turn the ignition switch off.
    5. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   4 

  2. INSPECT CLUTCH SWITCH (CRUISE CONTROL CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Remove the clutch switch. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Switch pin free 10 kΩ or higher
      Switch pin pushed in Below 1 Ω
    3. Install the clutch switch. Refer to INSTALLATION .

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH SWITCH) 
    1. Disconnect the ECM connector.
    2. Disconnect the clutch switch connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (2ZR-FE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-47 (D) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Resistance (2AZ-FE)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      B29-56 (D) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Always 10 kΩ or higher
    4. Reconnect the clutch switch connector.
    5. Reconnect the ECM connector.

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (ECM - CLUTCH SWITCH) 

    OK → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (BATTERY - CLUTCH SWITCH) 

  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  5. REPLACE CLUTCH SWITCH (CRUISE CONTROL CANCEL SWITCH ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL
