Security Indicator Light Assembly: Inspection: Inspection

  1. INSPECT SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT ASSEMBLY (TELLTALE LIGHT ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the E72 theft warning ECU assembly connector, with the security indicator light assembly connector connected.

    2. Apply battery voltage from the wire harness back side between the terminals of the indicator, and check the lighting condition of the security indicator light assembly.

      Standard

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal E60-1 (LP)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal E60-2 (E)
      Security indicator light assembly comes on
      NOTE:
      • If the positive (+) lead and the negative (-) lead are incorrectly connected, the security indicator light assembly will not come on.
      • Voltage of more than 12 V will damage the security indicator light assembly.
      • If the voltage is too low, the security indicator light assembly will not come on.

      If the result is not as specified, replace the security indicator light assembly (telltale light assembly).
