Turn Signal Flasher Assembly: Inspection: Inspection

INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY

Remove the turn signal flasher assembly from the instrument panel junction block.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
4 (+B) - Body ground	Always	11 to 14 V
1 (IG) - Body ground	Ignition switch off	Below 1 V
1 (IG) - Body ground	Ignition switch ON	11 to 14 V

If the result is not as specified, there is a malfunction on the wire harness side.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance

Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
5 (EL) - Body ground	Turn signal switch OFF	10 kΩ or higher
5 (EL) - Body ground	Turn signal switch in LH	Below 1 Ω
6 (ER) - Body ground	Turn signal switch OFF	10 kΩ or higher
6 (ER) - Body ground	Turn signal switch in RH	Below 1 Ω
7 (GND) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
8 (EHW) - Body ground	Hazard warning switch OFF	10 kΩ or higher
8 (EHW) - Body ground	Hazard warning switch ON	Below 1 Ω

If the result is not as specified, there is a malfunction on the wire harness side.

Install the turn signal flasher assembly to the instrument panel junction block.

Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

	Turn signal switch in LH	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
	Hazard warning switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Hazard warning switch ON	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
2A-28 (LR) - Body ground	Turn signal switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Turn signal switch in RH	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
	Hazard warning switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Hazard warning switch ON	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
2B-14 (LL) - Body ground	Turn signal switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Turn signal switch in LH	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
	Hazard warning switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Hazard warning switch ON	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
2B-31 (LR) - Body ground	Turn signal switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Turn signal switch in RH	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)
	Hazard warning switch OFF	Below 1 V
	Hazard warning switch ON	11 to 14 V (60 to 120 times per minute)

If the result is not as specified, replace the turn signal flasher assembly.
