DTC B2271: Ignition Hold Monitor Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. After all DTCs are cleared, check if the trouble occurs again 6 seconds after the engine switch is turned on (IG).
    3. Check for DTCs again.

      OK

      DTC is not output.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   3 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the E50 and E51 ECU connectors.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E51-1 (AM1) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      E50-6 (AM2) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR, OR FUSE 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 

  3. USE SYMPTOM METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
