Typical Enabling Conditions

ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR COLD START MONITOR

Monitor runs whenever following DTCs not present None
Battery voltage 10.5 V or more
Time after engine start 1 second or more
Engine coolant temperature at engine start Less than 60°C (140°F)
Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit OK
Intake air temperature sensor circuit OK
Thermostat OK
Soak time 0 sec or more
Accumulated mass air flow Manual transaxle models: 825 g or more
Automatic transaxle models: 1422 g or more
Fuel cut Off
Difference between engine coolant temperature at engine start and intake air temperature Less than 40°C (72°F)
ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR SOAK MONITOR

Monitor runs whenever following DTCs not present None
Battery voltage 10.5 V or more
Engine Running
Engine coolant temperature sensor circuit OK
Intake air temperature sensor circuit OK
Thermostat OK
Soak timer circuit OK
Soak time 5 hours or more
Either (a) or (b) condition met -
(a) Engine coolant temperature 60°C (140°F) or more
(b) Accumulated mass air flow Manual transaxle models: 1661 g or more
Automatic transaxle models: 3185 g or more
