Inspection Procedure: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR DISCONNECTION (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *A Auto Air Conditioning
      *B Manual Air Conditioning, TMC made
      *C Manual Air Conditioning, except TMC made
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier)
    2. Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Automatic Air Conditioning 

      Manual Air Conditioning, TMC made 

      Manual Air Conditioning, except TMC made 

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E30-11 (CANH) - E30-12 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E111-8 (CANH) - E111-9 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E62-2 (CANH) - E62-3 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE CAN BUS BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR (AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER BRANCH WIRE) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG+, GND) 
    1. Disconnect the air conditioning amplifier connector.

      *A Auto Air Conditioning
      *B Manual Air Conditioning, TMC made
      *C Manual Air Conditioning, except TMC made
      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Air Conditioning Amplifier)
      *b TMC made or except TMC made for 2ZR-FE
      *c except TMC made for 2AZ-FE
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Automatic Air Conditioning 

      Manual Air Conditioning 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E30-14 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E111-24 (GND) - Body ground*1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E62-12 (GND) - Body ground*2 Always Below 1 Ω

      *1: TMC made or except TMC made for 2ZR-FE

      *2: except TMC made for 2AZ-FE

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Automatic Air Conditioning 

      Manual Air Conditioning 

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E30-1 (IG+) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E111-14 (IG+) - Body ground*1 Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V
      E62-8 (GND) - Body ground*2 Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

      *1: TMC made or except TMC made for 2ZR-FE

      *2: except TMC made for 2AZ-FE

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
