Inspection Procedure: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN BUS WIRE (MAIN WIRE FOR DISCONNECTION, CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Result Proceed to
      E11-6 (CANH) - E11-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω A
      E11-6 (CANH) - E11-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off 70 Ω or higher B
      E11-6 (CANH) - E11-14 (CANL) Ignition switch off Below 54 Ω C

    C → See step   5 

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR SHORT TO B+ IN CAN BUS WIRE 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      *1 DLC3

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E11-6 (CANH) - E11-16 (BAT) Cable is disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher
      E11-14 (CANL) - E11-16 (BAT) Cable is disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 6 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FOR SHORT TO GND IN CAN BUS WIRE 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E11-6 (CANH) - E11-4 (CG) Ignition switch off 200 Ω or higher
      E11-14 (CANL) - E11-4 (CG) Ignition switch off 200 Ω or higher

    NG → See step   7 

    OK → See step   8 

  4. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN MAIN BUS LINE. Refer to  Open in CAN Main Bus Line  
  5. CHECK CAN BUS LINES FOR SHORT CIRCUIT. Refer to  Check CAN Bus Lines for Short Circuit  
  6. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO +B. Refer to  Check CAN Bus Line for Short to +B  
  7. CHECK CAN BUS LINE FOR SHORT TO GND. Refer to  Check CAN Bus Line for Short to GND  
  8. GO TO HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
