Inspection Procedure: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR OPEN IN CAN BUS WIRE (YAW RATE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE) 
    1. Turn the ignition switch off.

      *a Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Yaw Rate Sensor)
    2. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E97-3 (CANH) - E97-2 (CANL) Ignition switch off 54 to 69 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR BRANCH WIRE OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK WIRE HARNESS (IG, GND) 
    1. Disconnect the yaw rate sensor connector.

      (to Yaw Rate Sensor)
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E97-1 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      E97-4 (IG) - Body ground Ignition switch ON 10 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   3 

  3. REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR. Refer to  REMOVAL
