Data List / Active Test

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2011 Toyota Corolla. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. DATA LIST

Using the Techstream to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    1. Warm up the engine.
    2. Turn the ignition switch off.
    3. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    4. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    5. Turn the Techstream on.
    6. Enter the following menus:
      1. for Combination Meter: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
      2. for ABS/TRAC/VSC: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.
      3. for Engine and ECT: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
    7. Check values by referring to the table below.

  2. ACTIVE TEST

Using the Techstream to perform Active Tests allows the relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in trouble shooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.

    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
