Inspection Procedure: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Recheck for the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      B2785 is not output.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   8 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU - EACH ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the E22, E36, E39 and 2C connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E36-10 (LIN) - E39-5 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      E36-10 (LIN) - E22-3 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      E36-10 (LIN) - 2C-12 (LIN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      E36-10 (LIN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E36-10 (LIN) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK FOR DTC (STEERING LOCK ECU) 
    1. Reconnect the E36, E22 and 2C connectors.
    2. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for the DTC.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B2785 is output A
      B2785 is not output B

    B → REPLACE STEERING LOCK ECU (STEERING LOCK ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY) 

    A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC (ID CODE BOX) 
    1. Reconnect the E39 connector.
    2. Disconnect the E22 connector.
    3. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Recheck for the DTC.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B2785 is output A
      B2785 is not output B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC (MAIN BODY ECU) 
    1. Reconnect the E22 connector.
    2. Disconnect the 2C connector.
    3. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    4. Recheck for the DTC.

      OK

      B2785 is not output.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK) 

  7. REPLACE ID CODE BOX (IMMOBILIZER CODE ECU). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  8. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  9. REPLACE CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL
