Shift Lever: Installation: Installation

  1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY 
    NOTE:

    Check that the park/neutral position switch and the shift lever are in neutral.

    1. Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 nuts.

      Torque: 12 N*m (122 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf) 

    2. Connect the 2 connectors and 2 clamps to the shift lever assembly.

  2. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY 
    1. Turn the nut of the transmission control cable 180° counterclockwise. While holding the nut in place, push in the stopper until it clicks twice.

    2. Install the outer part of the transmission control cable to the shift lever retainer. Check that the spring is positioned at "A" and push in the stopper.

      HINT: 

      If the stopper cannot be pushed in, slightly turn the nut clockwise and then push in the stopper again.

    3. Push the 2 claws together at the top of the transmission control cable lock piece. While holding the 2 claws together, push the 2 lugs on the bottom of the lock piece toward each other and upward to pull out the lock piece.

    4. Install the cable end to the shift lever assembly.

      NOTE:
      • Check that the lock piece is pulled up.
      • Install the cable end all the way to the base of the pin.
    5. Push the lock piece into the adjuster case.

      NOTE:

      Securely push in the lock piece until it locks.

  3. INSTALL LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 16
  4. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 18
  6. INSTALL FRONT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 2
  7. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
  8. INSTALL NO. 2 SWITCH HOLE BASE  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 22
  9. INSTALL FRONT UPPER CONSOLE BOX  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 23
  10. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 6
  11. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 8
  12. INSTALL CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to INSTALLATION - Step 17
