TPMS Reminder Reset - Procedure 19: Initialization
NOTE:
The system will need to be initialized when tires are rotated, replaced with tires of different pressures, or tire pressure sensor and/or tire pressure monitor ECU are replaced.
- Set tires to the specified (cold) pressures as indicated on the tire and loading information label.
- Turn the engine switch ON.
- Select SETTINGS DISPLAY (gear icon) on the multi-information display using the meter control switches on the steering wheel. See Fig 1.
- Select VEHICLE INFORMATION and then press and hold OK.
- Select TPWS and then press OK.
- Select SET PRESSURE then press and hold OK until the tire pressure warning light blinks 3 times.NOTE: A message will then be displayed on the multi-information display. "---" will be displayed on the multi-information display for the inflation pressure of each tire while initialization is being performed.
- Drive straight (with occasional left and right turns) at approximately 25 mph (40 km/h) or more for approximately 10 to 30 minutes.
- Initialization is complete when the position of each tire is determined and the inflation pressure of each tire is displayed on the multi-information display.NOTE: Initialization may take longer than approximately 1 hour in certain situations, such as when the vehicle is stopped for a long time at traffic lights, etc.
